Abstract
Our text intends to talk about the theme of religion in Hegel from his 1802 book "Faith and Knowledge". his “turn” towards philosophy. If Hegel's early writings were called “theological writings” because of the themes addressed by the author, in this 1802 book, the Hegelian project can be called philosophy with full merit. It is not that Hegel abandoned theological problems, which we know he never did throughout his life, but it is clear that from Faith and knowing his reflection on the themes of religion and God begin to assume a more philosophical character. how theological. In this way, the theme of religion is at the heart of the philosophical question for Hegel and it is from the analysis of the proposals of the philosophers and theologians of his time that the book Faith and Knowledge becomes an attempt to respond by Hegel to the theme of religion in the Enlightenment. If, on the one hand, religion cannot be reduced to morality as Kant wanted, it cannot be reduced to just a kind of sentimentality that not infrequently culminates in a type of fideism. Thus, we think that the book Faith and Knowledge can be understood as a kind of retelling of the paschal story. The death of God understood as “speculative Good Friday” is followed by the resurrection typified in Hegel's philosophy, in which the Absolute reappears as a possibility of being thought and a new relationship between finite and infinite appears possible.
