Abstract
This article aims to present the concept of corporeality based on the contributions of philosophers Maurice Merleau-Ponty in the work Phenomenology of Perception, and Edith Stein in the works On the Problem of Empathy and Structure of the Human Person. In a dialogue between the respective authors, we seek to present the concepts of own body/living body and body as an animal in order to understand the body from a phenomenological perspective. This study contributed to the understanding of human dignity as well as the relationship between body and soul as constituents of man's personal being.
