Dear Readers, Authors, Reviewers, Editorial Board Members, and Friends of Synesis,
We are pleased to share with our entire academic community an important milestone in the editorial history of Synesis.
According to the official results of the Qualis Periódicos evaluation by CAPES for the 2021–2024 quadrennium, Synesis (Online) (ISSN 1984-6754) has been classified as A2, reaffirming its place among the journals of excellence in Brazil and marking a significant advance in its academic trajectory.
We take this opportunity to make a just and grateful remembrance of the journal’s path over the years:
-
2010–2012: Synesis was classified as B4, a foundational period marked by consolidation and learning.
-
2013–2016: The journal advanced to B1 in the area of Philosophy, reflecting growing academic recognition.
-
2017–2020: Synesis reached the level A3, remaining among Brazil’s leading scholarly journals.
-
2021–2024: With great satisfaction, we now celebrate the A2 classification, which represents both continuity and qualitative growth in our editorial mission.
This achievement would not have been possible without the dedicated collaboration of our editorial board members, reviewers, authors, and readers, whose commitment to academic rigor and intellectual dialogue sustains the journal.
We also express our sincere gratitude for the institutional support of the Universidade Católica de Petrópolis (UCP), especially the Rector, Fr. Pedro Paulo, whose encouragement and trust have been essential throughout this journey.
May this new recognition inspire us to continue strengthening Synesis as a space for critical reflection, scholarly excellence, and fruitful dialogue in Philosophy and related fields.
With gratitude and renewed commitment,
Sergio Salles
