Abstract
The constitution is the highest legal document with a particularly significant position in the legal system and political life of each country; it can also be considered the political declaration of each state. The constitution serves as the legal basis for constructing and perfecting a unified and coherent legal system, as well as for organizing and operating the state machinery. In Vietnam, the constitution is a crucial political and legal document, serving as the foundational law. This article focuses on clarifying the history and nature of the constitutions in Vietnam from the establishment of the country in 1945 to the present.
