Abstract

This work aims to present the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) as an agile technology for carrying out pathology inspections on building facades. An explanation was presented on the use of the UAV in the construction industry and subsequently a time study was carried out, based on Lean thinking, to analyze the time used to use the UAV in the operation of capturing images of pathologies on facades and compared with the use of other equipment used for inspection (suspended scaffolding and suspended chair), focusing on idle time that does not add value to the operation. It was observed that UAV showed time savings in inspections that reached 1,127% compared to the use of a suspended swing and 298% when compared to the suspended chair. Through the percentages, it is inferred that the use of the UAV to map pathologies on facades is of great value when compared to other methodologies, and directly contributes to the planning phase of the repair measures to be taken.
