ANALYSIS OF PRACTICES ADOPTED IN WORKS AIMED AT CONTROLLING STRUCTURAL CONCRETE

Authors

Abstract

The final objective of any work carried out in concrete will always be associated with the concept of structural safety, a requirement met when a strict quality control is carried out on the material. This work aims to analyze practices and methods adopted in civil construction works in Vitória - ES, regarding the controls carried out in the structural concrete production process. These practices were evaluated taking as a reference the technical standards, where the correlation between the guidelines recommended by them was carried out, and what is actually accomplished in the works. For field research, forms and interviews were prepared based on standards and references related to the theme of the work, which served as instruments for data collection. As part of the collection tools, direct observations were made with photographic records and documentary analysis. Among the main results, there were some non-conformities related to the sampling system adopted and the process of densification in the works. However, it was found that, in general, the works studied are aligned with the normative procedures regarding the preparation of concrete, such as the dosing and mixing activities, the performance of technological tests and in relation to the concreting techniques of structural elements.
